Changes in legislation in 1997 requires all car drivers who passed their driving test after the 1st January 1997, to obtain a separate B+E licence in order for them to tow a trailer which exceeds 750kg on a vehicle weighing 3,500kg, or vehicle and trailer/caravan/horsebox combination over 3,500kg.
If you are currently towing a caravan, horse box, boat or perhaps towing a trailer as part of your job, you may be breaking the law and you could be subject to a fine and even points on your licence.
