What Can You Drive With A Class C Licence?
The rules regarding large vehicles have been simplified. DVLA now refer to Class C as a `Category C` licence. Once you pass this you can drive any rigid heavy goods vehicle that is over 3.5 tonnes in weight. You can also tow a trailer but the trailer is limited to a total weight of 750kg. If you want to drive a lorry with a bigger trailer (such as an articulated lorry) you will need to obtain a `Category C E` licence. We will help you choose the right course for your ambitions.

How To Pass Your Class C HGV Test
We will run through all the stages with you before you commit. The process for obtaining your Class C licence usually includes the following steps:
Provisional Licence.
A1 Training will help you secure a provisional large goods vehicle licence by submitting the required medical documents and your current licence along with the D2 & D4 forms.
Theory / CPC Tests.
Take and pass your Class C theory tests. You will be provided with our up to date online revision material, which is top-notch and will assist you in passing with ease.
Driving Instruction & Lessons.
This generally consists of 4 days of driver training, including manoeuvres, on the road tuition, Mod 4 training and vehicle safety checks.
HGV Practical Test.
You can then take the DVSA HGV Driving test on the 5th day (or another day to suit you). Passing this will qualify you to drive Category C vehicles commercially and unlock a vast choice of well paid & rewarding jobs.
